  • We operate in Lexington, SC and almost all surrounding areas within about 45 minutes. For more specific information please refer to our [About] page.

    If you are a little outside of our service area, we can still do your move. We will just have to charge a slight fee to help cover vehicle costs.

  • Yes! Certain costs beyond standard labor are passed through to the customer. These may include:

    1. Packing materials fees – boxes, tape, packing paper, or other materials.

    2. Dump fees – applicable when hauling junk or debris to disposal sites.

    3. Drop-off fees – for delivering usable items to charities or donation centers.

    4. Toll, parking, or permit fees – any city or state fees incurred during the move.

    5. Stair/elevator or long-carry fees – extra labor for difficult building access.

    6. Special equipment rental fees – dollies, lifts, hoists, or other tools if needed.

    7. Storage fees – if temporary storage is required for your items.

  • All pass-through fees are added transparently to your final bill, so you only pay for what is actually incurred.

  • Customers are legally responsible for renting, paying for, and completing any required paperwork for trucks or trailers (U-Haul, Penske, etc.). This is required by the rental companies and local laws.

  • Absolutely! Our Full-Service or Labor-Only teams can work with any truck you provide.

Moving process & preparation

  • Be sure everything is packed, labeled, and ready to go when we arrive. Clear walkways and reserve parking if needed to help the move go smoothly.

  • Some things are simply too valuable or sentimental to hand off-even to our strong and trustworthy Bluff Boys!

    We recommend that you personally transport the following items:

    • Cash, jewelry, and watches

    • Irreplaceable photographs or family heirlooms

    • Important documents (passports, birth certificates, legal papers, etc.)

    • Prescription medications you may need during the move

    If it’s something you can’t easily replace-or would be upset to lose-it’s best to keep it with you. The same goes for sentimental items that hold personal value, even if they aren’t worth much monetarily.

    When in doubt, ask yourself: “Would I be stressed if this were lost, delayed, or damaged?” If yes, add it to your personal “do not pack” bag.

  • Our services are billed hourly, so if your move is complete before the estimated time, we charge based off of whatever the minimum billable hours are for the service. Note: minimum billable hours vary by service type.

Specialty and restricted items

  • Yes - we can move furniture, safes, appliances, and other heavy items. Just let us know in advance so we can bring the proper equipment and team.

  • While we’re equipped to handle almost anything heavy, there are certain items that moving companies-including us-can’t transport due to safety and legal regulations.

    Please plan to move these yourself or make other arrangements:

    • Hazardous materials: Gasoline, propane tanks, lighter fluid, fireworks, fertilizers, and household chemicals (such as bleach, paint thinner, or cleaning supplies) are flammable and must be handled separately.

    • Machines with fuel: Lawn mowers, snow blowers, and other motorized equipment should have all gas and oil drained before move day.

    • Perishables: Fresh, refrigerated, or frozen foods can spoil quickly and cannot be transported. Please use, donate, or move these items yourself.

    • Plants and pets: For their safety and comfort, we cannot transport live plants or animals. Trucks can become too hot, too cold, or lack proper ventilation.

    • Valuables and important documents: Cash, jewelry, essential paperwork, family heirlooms, photographs, and prescription medications should always travel with you.

    If you’re unsure about a particular item, just ask when booking-we’re happy to help you plan ahead.

  • We accept payment through cash, check, or digital transfer (Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle) at the completion of your service. No payment is required upfront.
